Privacy Statement ENGIE Services
ENGIE Services Nederland N.V. (“ENGIE SERVICES”) is committed to protecting the privacy of its customers, relations, and online visitors. Personal data is therefore handled and protected with the utmost care.
In all cases, ENGIE SERVICES adheres to the requirements set by the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and to the decisions of the regulator, The Dutch Data Protection Authority in The Hague.

 

A. Applicability

Responsible for data processing is ENGIE Services Nederland N.V. ENGIE SERVICES includes various regional companies. Please click here for an up-to-date overview. Personal data can be exchanged and combined within our group. Per organization, there may be additional and/or deviating provisions in the privacy statements, due to the specific nature of the service. These are then made available on the own webpages or at a specific service.

 

B. Types of personal data

ENGIE SERVICES may collect the following personal data for the purposes stated in this statement:

  • Name and address;
  • Contact details such as an email address and phone number;
  • Date of birth and gender;
  • Contract details;
  • Purchase and contract history;
  • Financial data such as bank account number and payment history;
  • Data necessary for checking creditworthiness and/or signing authority;
  • Traffic and location data;
  • Consumption data, measurement data, (technical) data from your connection(s), installations, technical infrastructure, and other data relevant for the provision of installation and maintenance services;
  • Data about the use of our websites or apps. For example, an IP address, the version of the operating system and settings of the device used to visit the website, as well as information about the use of the website, such as the time of the website visit, searches used within the sites and the topics being viewed;
  • Other information provided to ENGIE SERVICES, for example in the context of complaint handling, malfunctions or other contact requests;
  • Details of other products and/or services (such as calibration, central heating boilers, solar panels, thermal storage installations).

 

C. Purposes of processing personal data

ENGIE SERVICES processes your data in the context of efficient and effective business operations of ENGIE SERVICES and the companies within the ENGIE group, in particular in the context of performing the following activities:

  • The application, creation and/or implementation of an agreement for installation or maintenance services, the delivery of SaaS solutions, data management, building management or other related services;
  • Purchasing, personnel management, planning, and project management;
  • The management and administration of information regarding maintenance, malfunctions, and repairs of installations or technical infrastructure in the context of the service provision;
  • Supporting technical information with the help of pictures;
  • Managing warranty obligations;
  • Collecting and processing of client data, leads, and prospects for direct marketing purposes including informing about relevant products and /or services of ENGIE SERVICES;
  • Complying with legal obligations and retention periods;
  • Performing creditor and debtor checks;
  • Handling questions, complaints, and disputes;
  • Optimizing the performance of online web pages;
  • Performing analyzes for management information, product, and service development, determining the (general) strategy as well as statistic and scientific purposes.

D. Foundations for data processing

ENGIE SERVICES processes data based on the following principles:
a. Permission, for example when you sign up for the email newsletter

b. Execution of an agreement if you use our services

c. Legal obligation, we must keep certain financial data from the tax authorities, but we must also store data about our installation, inspections, etc.;

d. Justified interest; we may store certain customer data to be able to approach you or to analyze our services.

 

E. Your rights

You can gain insight into the data processed by ENGIE SERVICES at any time and no cost and, if desired, you can have your data adjusted or removed. If you wish, you can get your contact, address and bank details from us in a machine-readable format.

You can object to receiving specific information about the services we offer by email, telephone or mail.
ENGIE SERVICES keeps data for as long as necessary to be able to deliver our services or to comply with legal retention periods. You can request to delete your data from the database. You must realize that we cannot always comply with this. For example, if you have been a customer of ours, the tax authorities require that we keep agreements for 7 years. Sometimes, we also have to keep data that is necessary to (technically) maintain installations. If you ask us not to target you with marketing, we must record certain information about you to exclude you from our future campaigns. If we cannot respond to your request for removal, you will of course always hear the reason from us.

F. Security

ENGIE SERVICES takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, (unintentionally) destruction or distribution or any other form of unlawful processing. Personal data is stored on secured servers. Data is always sent encrypted, both to internal and authorized external parties.

A limited group of employees has access to personal data to perform their work in line with the purposes as stated in this privacy statement. For the processing of personal data and the delivery of services, ENGIE SERVICES can engage cooperating partners, suppliers, and any (sub)processors. A processing agreement is concluded with these parties.

 

G. Data breaches

There is a data breach if there is an infringement on the protection of personal data. If you have discovered a possible data breach or security risk at ENGIE SERVICES, please notify us at data.protection.nl@engie.com.
